reward of million

Recently, the United States Department of State and Secret Services has announced [1, 2] a reward of $2 million for the lead or information on two Ukrainian hackers who are accused of hacking and selling valuable corporate information from the Securities and Exchange Commission of the US Securities (SEC).

For each of the hacker, Artem Viacheslavovich Radchenko and Oleksandr Vitalyevich Ieremenko, the head of the US State Department MICHAEL R. POMPEO announced a $1 million reward.

For the two hackers, Artem Viacheslavovich Radchenko and Oleksandr Vitalyevich Ieremenko were accused of performing the international cybercrime.

Both the hackers were charged in January 2019 in New Jersey for hacking SEC computers to steal thousands of corporate files, including unpublished quarterly and annual earnings reports as well.

Here’s what the head of the US State Department, Michael R. Pompeo, said, “Cybercriminals do not value law and order in any country, as their chief goal is to spread crime throughout the world. That’s why we welcome the cooperation and coordination of all government bodies to bring these criminals to justice and protect innocent citizens around the globe.”

In this whole event, Artem Viacheslavovich Radchenko served as a manager, where he recruited Oleksandr Vitalyevich Ieremenko and offered him all the necessary tools and space to execute their operations. As a return or profit, they negotiated to settle with an equal amount of share on the selling value of the stolen confidential documents.

The Secret Services of the US has conducted an investigation in January 2020 in which they brought 16 charges or allegations against Artem Viacheslavovich Radchenko and Oleksandr Vitalyevich Ieremenko.

It was about conspiracy in security fraud, electronic transactions, and computer fraud, in which Artem and Ieremenko hacked the EDGAR system of the US Securities and Exchange Commission and stole thousands of confidential files, later that were illegally sold for personal profits.

Since 1986 the State Department has already paid more than $130 million in rewards and brought more than 75 criminals to justice. This reward offer was formed by the US Govt. along with the Narcotics Rewards Program following the Transnational Organized Crime Rewards Program (TOCRP).

Moreover, this is the very first time that the US Secret Service has offered half of the amount as a reward for a foreign national indicted in the United States.
