Protect Your Smartphone from Keyloggers

More people are spending time on their smartphones. And it’s not just because we’re a world of phone addicts (though quite possibly we are), it’s because that’s the way the advancement of technology has taken us. We can use smartphones to play games, communicate with people, surf the web. And we can use them as cameras to record special family moments, video chat with family members when we can’t get to them in person, or use it for working to keep businesses running. So, they play a key role in society. But like with everything that’s online, you need to make sure your smartphone is kept safe and secure, especially when it comes to keyloggers.

Keeping Away from Keyloggers

Unfortunately for everyone who uses the internet, there are people out there who always try to gleam your information. Hackers who search for keystrokes and Keyloggers is a prime example. Breaches can be on an international scale. Essentially, keylogging is software programming that can track the keys that are pressed on your smartphone. There are actually legitimate uses for this, such as parental controls to track what their children do, or company security who track their employees’ computer use. But there is a thin line between legitimateuse and security breaching and it’s one that you want to be aware of.

There are lots of examples of how people have fallen foul of keylogging attacks. Malicious software installed on your smartphone, from visiting unsafe sites or downloading material is often the root cause of it. The keylogging software can then track the main keys used, so if you use your smartphone for internet banking, then the hackers could find out what your passwords are. It’s happened to numerous people before. The only way to ensure all your information is kept safe is to have the right security in place. You can do that with a VPN.

The Easy Protection

Virtual private networks (VPNs) are a useful tool in helping to keep all your information safe and secure. And if you’re using your smartphone a lot and connected to the internet, then it’s a must-have.  It works by masking your IP address, so when you connect to the internet from your smartphone, it won’t be your regular IP address that you use with your home broadband or mobile connectivity. Instead, it could be from a server in a completely different country. You get to connect to the web but for all intents and purposes, nobody online knows your true location.

Now you know it’s actually quite simple to protect your smartphone from keyloggers. It literally just requires a few steps. The first is to find some good resources on how to spot a keylogger on smartphones, just to keep you aware of what to look out for. These nifty little tips are very useful. For example, did you know your battery can drain quickly or your phone will get physically hot if you have a keylogging breach on your smartphone? Once you’re aware of the effects of keylogging it’s time to get some keylogging virus software, which no doubt you will be able to find for free. Finally, it’s time for the VPN to come in to offer you that ultimate protection. VPNs protect your internet traffic with high-end encryption so you can say goodbye to any keyloggers trying to find out what you’ve been up to on your smartphone.

But there’s a lot more, too.

Most likely when you’re out and about, you’re going to use your smartphone to connect to public wi-fi networks. This is always risky as you never know what you’re connecting to and you could expose yourself to a malicious cyberattack. While avoiding it is a wise thing, if it’s absolutely necessary to connect, with a VPN you’ll have that extra level of security. It will hide your IP address and allow you to connect to the wi-fi without revealing your own details.

Another thing you probably use your smartphone for is making calls (unless you only do video calls these days!). But if you want to speak to someone far away, no matter what data package you’re on, it’s likely you’re going to incur costly long-distance phone charges. Not necessarily with a VPN installed on your phone. As it connects to remote access servers, you could connect to a local access point and enjoy lower costs.

Stay Safe with Just One Installation

It just takes one installation of a VPN to get that guaranteed peace of mind. Find the best one for you and not only will you be able to enjoy all the additional benefits that VPN offers, but you’ll be able to keep keylogging attacks at bay. So, you can use your smartphone and keep your details safe and sound.
